Nagasaki

The Roman Catholic Cathedral 600 yds. from centre of damage. The walls were of heavy load-bearing brick construction. Most of the damage is attributable to blast, although fire subsequently consumed all combustible debris. Note in the foreground the huts erected by the Japanese for temporary living quarters after the atomic bomb raid. See paragraphs 11, 16 and 39.
