The Chinzei school from the east bank of the Urakami River. Although it appears that the building is intact, the entire roof had caved in.

The city did not suffer from a firestorm as had Hiroshima. However, the blast effects were more destructive, because of the bowl-shaped topography and the greater yield of the bomb.
